Netball Paris Internal Regulations

On joining the Netball Paris association, each and every member is required to sign the registration form to state that they have read and agree to abide by the Netball Paris internal regulations. Netball Paris reserves the right to amend the internal regulations at any time and for any reason that it deems necessary. The most up-to-date version of the internal regulations is posted on the Netball Paris website – www.netballparis.com.

1. Training sessions

Netball Paris organises two weekly training sessions:

Thursdays from 20:00 to 21:30 at Gymnase du Commandant Mouchotte, 33 rue du Commandant René Mouchotte, 75014 Paris, metro Gaîté.

Sundays from 10:00 to 12:00 at Gymnase Auguste Renoir, Square Auguste Renoir, 75014 Paris, metro Porte de Vanves.

2. Membership

Membership status

All players who regularly attend training sessions must become members of the Netball Paris association. Only association members are entitled to play for a Netball Paris team in matches and tournaments held in France or abroad 1 * .

Membership period

Membership of the Netball Paris association is valid from 1 September to 31 August and must be renewed annually. New members New players are welcome to attend a maximum of two training sessions before deciding whether they would like to sign up as members of the association. To become a member of the Netball Paris association you need to provide our President with the following:
- 2023/24 registration form
- Medical certificate signed by your doctor in France
- Copy of ID
- Annual membership fee

Current members

Current members of the Netball Paris association should renew their membership annually on 1 September. Members who fail to renew their membership within one month, i.e., by 1 October, will no longer be considered members of Netball Paris. To renew your membership you need to provide our President with the following:
- 2023/24 registration form
- Annual membership fee
- Medical Certificate

Please note, medical certificates are only valid for 12 months and must be renewed accordingly. A model medical certificate is included on the Registration Page.

Membership fees

The annual membership fee covers the 12-month period from 1 September to 31 August. At the AGM each year, the Netball Paris committee sets the membership fee for the following membership period. The Netball Paris committee set the membership fee at €95 for the 12-month period and €55 for a half season (September - January, February - June.) Membership fees cover, but are not limited to:
- Membership of Netball France, including their insurance policy.
- Sports hall hire
- Netball equipment used in training sessions, e.g., posts, chalk, first aid etc.
- Netball kit for a squad of nine to play in matches and tournaments
- Match and tournament fees
- Expenses for tournaments, e.g., trophies, prizes, etc.
- Website costs
- Bank account charges

3. Clothing

Players must wear suitable sports clothing for training sessions (e.g., t-shirt, shorts/tracksuit bottoms, trainers). Players should tie back long hair, trim fingernails and remove all jewellery for training sessions and matches.

4. Code of Conduct

Netball Paris will not tolerate any unacceptable behaviour, on or off court, at training sessions, matches or tournaments. This includes arguing with the umpire, aggressive behaviour and swearing or rude language.

5. Values

Netball Paris is committed to being a club which is inclusive to all, where our members treat each other with respect. Whilst a key aim is to promote fitness, the sport of Netball, and compete, we also strive to create a social environment where all are welcome.

6. Committee

The Netball Paris committee consists of the following roles:

President
The President holds overall responsibility for the running of the club and its development and supports other committee members with their tasks as required. The President is, in particular, responsible for administrative work relating to the club’s status as an association, renewing the club’s third-party liability insurance, reserving indoor court space, authorising club expenses and payments and keeping an up-to-date record of all important documentation.

Secretary
The Secretary is responsible for creating Facebook events for training sessions, organising monthly committee meetings and taking minutes, replying to emails received on the club email account, replying to messages posted on the Facebook wall, managing membership documents along with the Treasurer, and supporting the President with administrative work relating to the club’s status as an association.

Treasurer
The Treasurer is responsible for drawing up the annual budget, collecting membership fees and other documents required from new and current members, managing the club’s bank account, authorising club expenses and payments, keeping a record of incoming and outgoing payments, presenting the monthly accounts at committee meetings and presenting the annual accounts at the AGM.

General Committee Members
The General Committee members share responsibility for a wide variety of tasks to help with the running and development of the club. Examples of the kinds of tasks the General Committee members are involved in are:
- organising matches and tournaments at the British School of Paris,
- organising international tournaments,
- developing contacts with other netball clubs in France and abroad,
- buying new kit and equipment for the club and ensuring a good supply of chalk, masking tape, ice packs and other items of first aid,
- ensuring there are enough bibs, balls, first aid etc. at training sessions/matches/tournaments, and washing kit and bibs as required, 
- keeping the club website and Facebook group up-to-date with information concerning training times and location, match/tournament reports and photos,
- seeking sponsorship opportunities,
- organising socials such as drinks events, pub quizzes, film nights, sports events and day trips.

7. Committee members

The current members of the committee are as follows:
President – Nancy Bentley
Vice President - Gab Bell
Treasurer- Kat Letellier
Secretary - Alice Campbell
General Members- Bethany Lord, Natalie Foster, Maria Bravo, Jordan Barber, Sophie Boyle, Sarah Gold.

8. Committee Meetings

Committee meetings are held on a monthly basis. The date, time and location of the committee meeting may vary depending on committee members’ availability.

9. AGM

The Annual General Meeting takes place in August or September. During the AGM, the committee members present the progress achieved in developing the club over the past year. The Treasurer presents the budget for the following year. During the two weeks prior to the AGM, association members will have the chance to nominate committee members. A vote will be held in the case of multiple candidates. At the AGM, the President will announce the new committee members for the following year.
